Bible Studies

Welcome to the Fall 2020-2021 Bible Study Series!

We are excited to get back together again, to step into scripture and hear what God wants us to hear about living in His world at this time.

 Why should you get involved in a Bible study?

     * Get into the Word

     * Grow Closer to God

     * Explore the Scriptures with Fellowship

     * Join a Community of Believers

St. Patrick Bible Studies are designed to help the ordinary become extraordinary by growing in knowledge of the sciptures, while deepening an understanding of the riches of our Catholic faith. We offer small groups allowing for greater connection with other believers in growing our understanding of the Bible as Jesus' small group of disciples did.

Our studies are being offered in-person (as well as on Zoom) depending on the number of participants and any social distancing guideline updates. We will be continuing to update the specific books being studied and time offerings, so please check here and our bulletin frequently so you don't miss your favorite Bible study.

If you have any additional questions, please email Lisa Powaser at [email protected].

Join us as we take a deep dive into Hebrews!

Hebrews: The New and Eternal Covenant is an 8-week Bible study program that takes Catholics on a guided tour of what is considered the "Holy of Holies" of biblical theology.

Presented by Dr. Andrew Swafford and Jeff Cavins, this study program draws out the meaning of the book of Hebrews in a simple way and highlights the critical differences between the Old and New Covenants.

Those who embark on this 8-session study will...

  • Understand the book of Hebrews and a variety of aspects of the Catholic faith including the Creed, the Sacraments, salvation, judgement, heaven, hell, morality, and prayer.
  • Be challenged to become the faithful Catholics they're called to be as they realize how much is expected of those whom much is given.
  • Appreciate, more fully, the power of the Holy Mass and return to church with a renewed awe and awareness that heaven is truly present to them.
  • Be encouraged by the community of saints, the tremendous "cloud of witnesses" rooting for them to get to heaven and interceding on their behalf.
  • Discover key connections to the patriarchal period of salvation history and veiled references to the Blessed Mother and the Mercy Seat.
  • And more...!

Join us for a Bible study focused on the life of Jesus Christ!

Jesus: The Way, the Truth, and the Life is a 10-week study anchored in the life of Jesus Christ as presented in the Gospels and focuses on who Jesus was. Come as we explore the entirety of Jesus' life-who he is, what ihe is really like, what he taught, what he did for our salvation, and what all of this means for us as Catholics today.

This study was filmed in the Holy Land to showcase the experience and world in which Jesus lived and taught-the historical context, the politics, the clashing cultures, the history, and the ancient land-and see where the most significant events of his life took place, from his infancy to his acension.

In this study, you will learn...

  • Who Jesus is and how he answers the longings of the human heart.
  • Why Jesus was baptized.
  • The significance of the Transfiguration.
  • The essentials of Christology explained in a way the average Catholic can understand.
  • The mystery and meaning of the Resurrection, Christ's triumph over death.
  • The nature of Jesus' mission and the redemption of humanity.
  • Our role today as Catholics in the Great Commission.

This Bible study is being led by Lori Clark and will be offered through Zoom only on Tuesday evenings from 6:30pm-8:30pm. Program dates: 9/15, 9/29, 10/13, 10/27, 11/10, 11/24, 12/8, 1/12, 1/26 There is a $25 fee for the workbook.
