Giving Opportunities

Giving to others is one of the best ways to show our gratitude to the Lord for the many blessings He has given to us. Your generosity makes a direct impact on others in our community and beyond.

No amount of giving is too small to make a significant difference to those around you. There are so many opportunities to give of the time, talents and treasures the Lord has bestowed upon each of us.

Below you can find all sorts of ways that you can help others. Check back often for updates. Thank you so very much for your willingness to be of service.

Angel Haven Shoe Box Project

We hope you can participate in this wonderful project to help those less fortunate have a nicer holiday season. It is such an incredible project to participate as a family because each family member can create a box, filled with love for a person who is just like them. How can you participate?

  1. Find a Shoe Box
  2. Decide if your box will be for an adult or child
  3. Put thoughtful, helpful gifts into the box (warm hat, gloves or mittens, full size personal care items, warm clothing, a small toy or puzzle book, treats)
  4. Wrap the outside of the box and box top separately (this allows the delivery committee to adjust boxes so children in the same family recieve equitable items)
  5. Write on the box (clothing size, age and sex of the person the items are intended for)

Lables for the boxes are available in the Chistian Service office. The people in the Appalachian community will be so glad about your choice to be generous. Please call 248-698-3100 with any questions.

If you are unable to fill a shoebox but would like to contribute some of these items listed above, that would be very helpful as well. Please place items in the basket marked "Christmas Shoe Box Project" near the statues at the back of the church by November 15.

St. Vincent de Paul

Recently, the requests for help with rent, utilities and food has increased greatly as you would expect with so many out of work. Please remember, St. Vincent de Paul has been helping families throughout the COVID-19 crisis. If you are able, please consider a donation to enable them to continue to help those in need. The best way to get fund to St. Vincent is to write a check out to St. Vincent de Paul and place it in an envelope in the collection box or mail it to the Parish (Attn: St. Vincent de Paul) or in the poor boxes at the back of the church. Thank you for your generous support!
